Soldiers of
Salvation

S.O.S, Soldiers of Salvation, by the grace of God, for the glory of God, in the power of God, are committed to fighting the good fight, by serving others, that they may know the love of Christ.

Pastor Kirk Jordan

You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.

Join with me in suffering, like a good soldier of Christ Jesus.

"Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”

The Best Thing is partly my story but mostly about God's amazing grace. I've been reading and writing my whole life, and providence has compelled me far too long to write a book, so here we are.

Our Pastor

It should be noted what a pain staking undertaking this is when I’ve spent the last 30 years crucifying self so that it is no longer I who live but Christ lives in me. Born in 1965, graduate of Greenville Pa. high school 1983, Fort Lewis College Colorado 1988. Spent 2 years in Australia building car washes, returned to the US worked a year in Boston, traveled with BFGoodrich and then headed to Ontario Canada to answer a call on my life at Pat Wolfe Log Building School.  Spent a season planting trees in Mississippi. Worked for Custom Log Homes south of Missoula Montana and then Oregon Log Homes in Maupin Oregon. Then it was off to Alaska and the Brooks Range north of the Arctic Circle for 3 months in the wilderness building a log cabin on Lake Chandalar. Did some work on the Kenai Peninsula and then to Juneau to build a couple houses on Douglas Island. After several other log projects, I decided to hang my shingle out and for the next 20 years-built log homes/cabins.

Knowing there is a time and a season for everything I planned to further my college education to prepare for life after log building. As God would have it, it was through Dubuque Theological Seminary in what was considered their “Lay Pastor” program, essentially an associates degree. Also took classes at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary and Thiel College. Pastored a small church, North Sandy for about 8 years, started a relationship with a small church in Hoonah Alaska, this will be my 5th year there. Started a church in a custom motorcycle shop for wayward bikers. Preached in a biker garage outside Greenville and am currently in the old Record Argus building in downtown Greenville. Was part of the Mercer County prison ministry, counsel at a recovery center for men. Every breath, every inch is absolutely by the grace and mercy of God.  Don’t you know we must be about our Father’s business? We’ve been born for such a time as this.

Our Mission

S.O.S, Soldiers of Salvation is an outreach ministry called by God to stir the waters of pulpit, pew and prison alike. We will approach the rich and poor, the old and young, the believer and non-believer all the same, with the Good News of the mercy, grace, love and forgiveness of the only God who gave His Son as a substitute for our sinful, fallen nature.

God has placed us strategically in downtown Greenville, PA to minister to the lost, broken, homeless, addict, or those simply searching for a better way, a higher way.  Our hope is to walk with folks away from their old environment, sharing with them new, healthy ways of living, speaking and breathing. Connecting them with local support groups, volunteering in the community, helping with employment, and searching God’s word that together we might take a closer walk with Thee. There is a strong focus on family, healing, restoration, transformation and community.

A second chance ministry called to leave the 99 to find that one lost sheep, to save a life, to be the fragrance of Christ. This is a journey for all of us, sharing our gifts, encouraging, strengthening, loving one another as God in Christ Jesus loves us. Our plea is to petition your support to assist those in need of food, shelter, clothing, counseling and spiritual guidance. Together we can break the cycle of physical, emotional and spiritual bondage offering hope for a brighter tomorrow. To save one life at a time, to reclaim Greenville that it might be a beacon of God’s amazing grace for all the world to see. We are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works. It’s God’s call on our lives to bring that goodness to Greenville.
